Axxent is now officially B Corp certified!

Axxent Masters in Tea proudly announced in April 2024 that it has officially been certified as a B Corp. This means that the company, known for its tea brands Tea of Life, Bradley’s, and Sunleaf, is now recognized as part of a global movement committed to making a positive impact on employees, communities, and the environment. In the Benelux, more than 1500 companies are part of the B Corp community, including well-known brands like Dopper, Tony’s Chocolonely, BitesWeLove, Alpro, Rituals, and TooGoodtoGo.

What is B Corp?
The ‘B’ in B Corp stands for ‘Benefit for all‘. It is a certification awarded to companies that demonstrate their business operations have a positive impact on all stakeholders, including employees, communities, customers, and the environment. This recognition perfectly aligns with Axxent Masters in Tea’s daily mission: “Tea with a positive impact for all“.

How do you become a B Corp?
Achieving B Corp certification is an extensive process. The assessment includes around 200 to 500 questions related to governance, employees, community, environment, and customers. A company must score at least 80 points to demonstrate responsible social and environmental practices. This includes areas such as energy use, waste and water management, employee compensation, diversity, and transparency. Axxent Masters in Tea achieved an impressive score of 104.4 points, which is seen as a promising and motivating foundation for further social and sustainable developments.

Tea with a positive impact for everyone
At Axxent Masters in Tea, positive impact is achieved by processing tea as much as possible into the final product in the countries of origin: Sri Lanka and India. This creates employment and contributes to a growing local economy. Additionally, through its Fair Grounds Foundation, Axxent supports projects focused on education, healthcare, and housing in these regions. The company is currently working on an update of the Impact Report detailing these initiatives.
